All is quiet on the home front still... |
|
| The RV is ready to go, well, at least the outside and the engine. I haven't finished totally
unloading things that we won't need and haven't even started to
think about loading it! I do need to think of a few things, we
are taking it out the weekend of Feb 27/28th to a square dance in
Montgomery, TX. Until then, we have had some more work done in the yard, getting ready for putting in a garden. Jim was worried about a couple of very tall oak trees, so he had them removed, then we had a stump grinder come in to make them truly "vanish" :) |

| I missed the guys working on the first tree, here is what is left of it on the ground. | Now they are working on the second tree, it is closer to the house and taller. They are having to take it down in pieces. You can see the guy up in the tree cutting the top while it is held in place by a crane "thing". |

| another shot; shows a lot of the equipment, etc. | Here the top of the tree is swinging away from the base of the tree so that they can lower it to the ground to be cut up. |

| It takes a lot of "stuff" to do the job right and they sure did! The trailer is to haul away all the debris. | Down another section of the tree, getting closer to the ground. |

| Another view of the proceedings... | They are cleaning up all of the debris, the yard was perfect, well, at least no wood, branches or anything else to be found when they were done. |
| While all of the tree cutting was going on, the February BUNCO meeting was going on across the street from my house at Flo's. During the snack break, I remembered I hadn't taken any pictures of the tree cutting, so ran across the street to get my camera, shot a few pictures (above) and then had Jim do a few more. Phew, almost lost a picture taking opportunity :P | |

| Two of the BUNCO tables in Flo's kitchen | Enjoying the mid-game snack... |
| Now that we have stumps, we have to get rid of them so that I can finish planning my garden and the girls and start work on leveling, putting up the stone wall (not so much a wall, just a couple of stones tall) around the front and side of the property. Can't have roots in the way of progress! | |

| I was slow again with the camera, the first stump was almost gone by the time I got out to take a picture. | View from the other stump to check out the grinder. All that was left of the first stump was mulch. Here he is making sure the roots are gone too. |

| It was an interesting process to watch, the blade is swung back and forth against the stump/roots to chip it away. Here he is just beginning on the bigger stump. You can see chips flying. | Another view of the blade on the grinder, starting from the top to work down into the roots. |
| What an exciting life we lead... the side yard is
all level now, needs a little more dirt and it will be ready for the
girls to work on this summer. Hopefully, next winter we will
start to get it planted so that it actually looks like we have done
something. The last thing we did for the month of February is go to the Go Texan Square Dance in Conroe, TX. It is a fund raiser for the Conroe Country Cousins and is always a great dance. We get there on Thursday afternoon, visit, go shopping, out to eat, etc. Friday, there is a potluck dinner, Saturday is the big dance with dinner, then Sunday is breakfast and a devotional. We don't have any time to do anything else but have fun! |

| Our rig amongst the Camping Square rigs, there were about 20 total at the dance. | Dinner on Saturday night before the dance, there were about 270 folks, which is a great turn out. |

| There was even shopping at the dance, Suzy's Ruffles had lots of great stuff for sale. I kept my money in my pocket, but that doesn't mean it will stay there, I have her website & phone number :) | Boots and Babes (the other club we belong to) and friends, Jim, John, Carol, Laura & Robert. |

| People donate things and they "auction" them off in what is called a tin can auction, but we actually use paper bags instead of cans. | One of the callers for the dance, but is Round Dancing with his lovely wife, Dennis and Sonya Ray. Dennis calls normally at the Huntsville Promenaders club. |

| The cute guy in the plaid western shirt is K.O. Jeanes, the caller from our Boots and Babes club. He and his wife came to enjoy the dance. | Here is a "tiger" square (one the caller can watch to make sure the dancers are doing what he/she calls :) I can't figure out what I was doing, must have been the duck walk! :P but having a great time while doing it. |

| Another shot of the "square", yup, that's me in the polka dots and the back of Jim's head. We are "weaving the ring" on this call. | Here we are doing a "square thru" in the center of the square. We had a great time at the dance and danced every "tip" (dance). |

| These are some great cooks from the Camping Squares (another Square Dance club we belong to) working on our breakfast for Sunday morning. | Bernie Youngblood, caller for the Conroe Country Cousin's, cookin' up some of the bacon for breakfast. |

| Jim was in line first, but then, there were 3 lines for eggs... | Busy feeding our faces at a great breakfast. |
| February has come and gone now, we are looking for
spring and heading out next month. Talk to you then! Kim |
